COLAIP Update

Dear Supporters & Members,

 

I wanted to update everybody on what is happening with Columbus AIP.  As you
know the last year we lost our meeting place. Additionally it has been
difficult getting speakers the last several meetings.  This combined with a
smaller than expected membership renewal, during that last membership drive,
leads me to believe that the value of COLAIP to the community has run its
course. So, I have decided to disband the meeting format part of the
organization.  It has been a great 7 1/2 years but all good things end and I
believe that the need for a professional organization dedicated to the
Internet may not be desirable now that the industry has matured. 

 

Columbus AIP will evolve, like many other Internet Organizations into a
virtual only organization.  We will continue to develop, provide services,
and still look to be the local internet authority.  We still plan on
continuing the upgrade of the website, with a forum, local job search,
freelance portal, and links to tools and templates.  Additionally, with the
purchased of a long term contact for hosting services, we will still offer
hosting services through 2010.  The cost of 50 megs with unlimited traffic

It saddens me that we will drop the face to face networking opportunities,
but the last couple of years the attendance at our meetings has taken a big
drop from the high of 60+ persons during the early 2000's. For the members
who did renew I will be refunding your membership fees within the next
couple of days.  

 

I would like to thank all of those who have supported the organization
throughout the years and invite you to continue using COLAIP.ORG as a
resource.
